During the 2022 Cross Country Chase rider's meeting, Jason Sims announced the make up of that year's entries. "We have 66 Harleys, 7 Indians and 19 other brand bikes" So me, being on a 1940 Zundapp KS600, stand up and ask"other brands? Really?" And as such, from then on, I and everyone else on "other brands" were labeled as riding "Other Brands".
And thus, the idea for Other Brand Bikes was born. I want to focus on motorcycles that are not the common sight you see on the road, at bike night, or in competion events.
So, mostly European and British bikes, but not the usual Triumphs, BMW, or Nortons. Many of the motorcycles I am involved with are not neccessarily rare, they're just rarely seen in the US.
Well, my favorite is Zundapp. I have several, including my 1940 KS600, which I won Class 2 of the Cross Country Chase on in 2022. I also have a 1955 KS601, 1928 S200, a 1956 MC250 enduro, 1940 DB200 and a few others.
Sunbeam, Tornax, Velocette, NSU, Standard, Douglas, BMW, Maico, Triumph, FN are some of the other motorcycles I have. You can see soe of the bikes in the photo gallery.
Yes and no. You can ask about a particular bike, while there are a few that are for sure NFS, I'm always open to offers. I am not actively selling as a dealer. Maybe 1-2 a year, as I am not a dealer. I am open to trades, as well as buying your other brand bike.
You'll know by all the questions, usually preceded by "I never heard of that brand." But if you're not sure, shoot me an email, and some pictures to info@otherbrandbikes.com and I'll help you figure it out. I can also help you find that special Other Brand if you're looking for one.
